The Sensory Service

The Sensory Service at the Ryegate Children’s Centre have been developing an online training package with Learn Sheffield which is now available to access. The training will introduce you to theories around sensory processing and will help you to understand more about where challenges can occur for children and young people in school who have sensory processing difficulties.
World Education Summit (21-24 March 2022)

Learn Sheffield have purchased a group booking for the World Education Summit in March. The summit takes place from 21st -24th March 2022 online and has a superb range of speakers and themes. Subscribing schools will have access to the live summit and then the recorded content for one year.
Forge CPD Platform Now Available

The Forge CPD platform has been added to the Learn Sheffield subscription and is now available to Sheffield schools. Forge CPD is a one stop shop of resources for all members of the school community. They are a non-profit organisation, which brings together high-quality training resources for teachers, support staff and governors from a wide range of partners across South Yorkshire and beyond.
Racial Equity Conference (14&16 March 2022)

This is the second year that we are able to offer the chance to work with Dr Muna Abdi (MA Education Consultancy) and Dr Ben Blaisdell (East Carolina University). This will include a virtual conference (‘Implicit Bias and Racial Awareness’ in March 2022) and a series of follow-up supervision/drop-in sessions across the rest of the school year.
March Opportunities Bulletin

Spring 1 Leader Briefing Now Online

The third Leader Briefing of the year has been sent out to schools and is available on the Learn Sheffield website. It includes keynotes from Mary Myatt, who is also leading our Curriculum Project, and Rob Newton (Huntington Research School). We also have an introduction to the Forge platform which is now available for Sheffield settings.
Public Health Education Briefing on Wednesday 2 March at 12:00pm

There will be a Public Health Education Briefing on Wednesday 2 March at 12:00pm. Greg Fell and his colleagues will be attending and the session will follow a similar pattern to the previous meetings. As usual the session will be recorded so that colleagues can access the recording from later in the day. The link for this session has been emailed out to all Sheffield schools and academies in the usual manner.
Learn Sheffield Governance Briefing

The next Governance Briefing held by Learn Sheffield will take place on Tuesday 8th February at 5:30pm. The keynote speakers will be former Senior HMI Nick Whittaker (talking about Ofsted) and Sophie Hunter from Create Sheffield.

Learn Sheffield Annual General Meeting – 3rd February 2022

The Annual General Meeting of Learn Sheffield will be held on Thursday 3rdd February 2022 at 6.00pm. Due to the pandemic, the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. The papers have been published on the Learn Sheffield website and emailed out to members.
