In this course, we will explore:
- How schools can explain and discuss the concept of British Values through PSHE lessons.
- The history of the British Values in schools and their context within counter-terrorism and the Prevent duty.
- How British Values relate to the Equality Act (2010) and the protected characteristics within it.
- How British values can be used to reduce hate crime.
- How PSHE can be used to enhance students’ understanding of and development in terms of SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education)
This course is suitable for all primary, secondary and post-16 teachers of PSHE, as well as PSHE subject leaders and members of SLT who lead in Personal Development.

Reducing Misogyny, Gender Inequality and Sexual Harassment |
In this course, we will explore:
- How sexism is changing in the modern world, especially in the online space
- How online sexism is perpetuated by philosophical and political concepts, spread by celebrities and online influencers
- Vocabulary such as “The Manosphere”, “Incels” and “Pickup artists”
- How digital literacy, such as learning how to verify information and understanding social media echo chambers, can give young people resilience to misinformation and bigoted viewpoints
- Looking at the contexts that create and resist sexist views, including past sexism, political and cultural phenomena, the Equality Act, self-perception, role models, insecurities, myths, changing gender roles, poverty, social status and vulnerably
- How groomers are using misogynistic concepts to radicalise young men and exploit them
- How critical thinking can be used to counter discrimination

In this course, we will explore:
- How to apply KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) through the RSHE curriculum

- How to ensure that children learn the skills that prevent and reduce safeguarding risks
- How to tailor your RSHE curriculum to the context of your school and to reflect safeguarding concerns in your setting
- How PSHE can help you deliver your statutory obligations, in terms of Personal Development, by teaching skills in safeguarding, online safety, careers, SMSC, British Values, personal responsibility, character, R.E. and more
