Friday 19 April, 8.30-10.30am at Albion House

Catherine Elliott, eLearning Consultant with Sheffield City Council leads the Sheffield AI in Education Work Group and will provide an overview of what generative AI is and what senior leaders in schools need to consider in terms of their own policies and practice. She will talk about the opportunities and benefits of using AI, for example to reduce workload and support accessibility and inclusive practices for a range of learners, as well as acknowledging the issues around assessment, reliability and bias. Sue Finnigan from Learn Sheffield will outline the risks and current thinking around safeguarding and AI in schools. We also hope to have a speaker from a local digital company that uses AI to enhance their products, to share their experience of AI in the workplace and why all of our young people should have an understanding of how to harness these tools. This will be followed by a Q&A session.
