Learn Sheffield and the Inclusion Taskforce will be holding a Trauma Informed conference on Friday 14th October 2022.
The past 2 years or so have seen a growing awareness of the impact of trauma on pupils and staff in our schools. In Sheffield, we have had fantastic engagement in TISUK training supported by Learn Sheffield and the LA with many schools also engaging in the THRIVE model. This has built on the success of the Healthy Minds programme, which has also been accessed by the vast majority of Sheffield schools.
The conference is aimed at headteachers and senior leaders and is intended to highlight the work that has already taken place, the training package that is continuing and the work we need to plan and implement together to further embed the importance of a common culture based on positive relationships in all our Sheffield schools. The day will include inputs from a number of leaders working in Sheffield to coordinate the various strands of this work, showcase a number of Sheffield specific training offers that have been brought together, discuss the next steps and how school leaders can engage in what is going on both at a school and citywide level.
There will be inputs from Gareth Morewood (Educational Advisor), Luke Mitchell (Positive Regard), Greg Fell and senior members of the Education and Skills department at SCC.
This training is taking place at Niagara Conference and Leisure, S6 1LU.
Please note, there will be a cost of £50 per delegate to attend this conference.
