Learn Sheffield Primary Curriculum Team Recruitment

Overview

Learn Sheffield would like to recruit a small team of primary school leaders to form a curriculum team.

This team will work alongside other members of the Learn Sheffield team and sometimes, when appropriate, identified consultants and specialists.

They will work on identified priorities  in order to develop guidance, training and resources that support Sheffield schools and academies to develop their curriculum offer.

Initial Opportunity

We are looking in the first instance for small number of school leaders (likely to be up to 5 colleagues) who can offer between 5-10 days in the current school year. The day rate for this work will be £500 per day.

The actual number of days will be determined by the work plan which will be developed by the team alongside Learn Sheffield, who have an overall initial budget.

It is possible that the number of days will expand if additional funding is identified during the year or that other colleagues from the schools or academies of the identified school leaders may also be commissioned to contribute to the work where appropriate.

Application Process

In the first instance we are seeking short expressions of interest which address the three questions below:

·         Tell us three things about the curriculum of your school(s) that you think are most significant.

·         What experience do you have of system leadership work which is relevant to this project?

·         What do you think success looks like for the new Learn Sheffield curriculum team?

Expressions of interest can be emailed to stephen.betts@learnsheffield.co.uk and should be received by 6pm on Wednesday 4 November 2020.

Requirements

Successful team members are likely to be:

·         Can demonstrate a track record of implementing improvement

·         professionally curious with a growth mind-set

·         professionally generous with a drive to impact on children and professionals across the city

Background

This recruitment follows the successful work of the Learn Sheffield Inclusion Team over the past year. Although the initial budget for the curriculum team is more modest, and the corresponding opportunity on offer therefore more limited, it is hoped that this will be a starting point for a growing and more ambitious resource.

Projects which involve the curriculum team are likely to be varied and require a solution focussed approach. This is not simply about replicating the curriculum offers of the schools and academies of team members but rather about considering what guidance, training and resources are likely to enable a wide range of schools and academies to enhance their own curriculum offer.
