The first briefing of the year will take place next Wednesday:
Venue: Online (Zoom)
Date: Wednesday 21st September 2022 at 5:30 - 7 pm
To book your place, please visit Eventbrite
The keynote speaker will be Emma Knights, Chief Executive of the National Governance Association. As CEO of the NGA, Emma is closely involved in conversations on the national stage and champions the role of governors within the education landscape. Emma will speak about the current big issues, challenges and opportunities facing governors and schools as we start the new school year.
Each briefing this year will include keynote speakers followed by a local update, where colleagues from Sheffield and Rotherham receive separate updates that are relevant to them. At this first briefing of the year, however, we will stay together so that we can launch the partnership between Learn Sheffield and RoSIS by taking colleagues through the offer for 2022/23. The briefing will, as previously, be recorded so that colleagues who cannot attend can still access it.
The training offer includes induction training, a programme of training sessions and access to the NGA Learning Link online package. More information about the offer can be found on the website, using the link above, and additional sessions will continue to be added to the offer during the year. Costs for each aspect of the offer for non-subscribing settings are also listed online. As previously, the programme has been developed based on feedback and demand from last year, along with the development of content which addresses current topics.
The Governance Conference will take place on Saturday 17 June 2023 (10:00am-12:30pm at SHU Owen Building – Sheffield City Centre). The theme of the day will be Governance Curriculum Conversations and the keynote speakers will be Mary Myatt and John Tomsett. Each Learn Sheffield of RoSIS subscribing school has two free tickets for this event and can purchase any additional tickets at £40 per delegate (tickets are £125 for non-subscribing settings).
