Strategic Leadership of Writing Across the Secondary Curriculum
During course we will be:
- Exploring writing in different subjects within the broader context of disciplinary literacy
- Identifying differences and similarities between writing in different subjects as well as the pre-requisite knowledge needed for effective writing in subjects
- Exploring how improving pupils’ writing capabilities can boost achievement
- Looking at the cognitive demands of effective writing
- Explaining how to use subject-specific writing models
- Sharing research on effective approaches for teaching subject-specific writing, including approaches that might support pupils with SEND.
Audience: Secondary Literacy Leads
The below are all half day sessions and will take place in person at Learn Sheffield.
