Strategic Leadership Courses 2024/25

A programme for subject leaders in primary, secondary and special settings.

This course aims to develop knowledge, skills and confidence in leading sustainable improvement by developing a high-quality curriculum, delivered through effective teaching, supported by high-quality CPD and mentoring. The course is delivered through four face-to-face twilights and a half-day school-based enquiry visit.

The content of this course includes:

• What is the construct of a high-quality education in the EIF? What research and theory underpins this construct?
• What are the features of a high-quality curriculum in the way that it is conceived, taught, assessed and experienced by pupils?
• What is Ofsted’s conception of subject quality? What are the features of a high-quality subject education?
• How can subject leaders use their knowledge of the features of a high-quality curriculum to build up an evidenced-based picture of subject quality?
• How can subject leaders use these insights to improve the curriculum, the quality of teaching and the progress pupils make?

This course will take place over 4 in-person twilights on the below dates. A follow-up visit in school is included as part of the course and this will be arranged as the course progresses.
