Improving Resourced Provision
Learn Sheffield has been commissioned by SCC to support the improvement of resourced provision in the city. This includes Integrated Resource provision, hub provisions and any other provision being resourced by the setting to support the needs of children and young people who need provision that is additional or different to that which is typical.
There are four elements to this work currently:
- We are carrying out an audit of the number, range and types of resourced provision in the city.
- We have published the quality standards (below) so that colleagues can use them as a basis for self-evaluation of provision.
- We are offering to provide feedback on the self-evaluation of resourced provision from any Sheffield setting who are prepared to share them.
- We have been commissioned to carry out 20 enquiry visits initially and settings can express an interest in receiving one of these (without cost).
Nick Whittaker has been working with colleagues in Integrated Resources over the past 18 months to develop and test a set of quality standards as a basis from which to evaluate and seek to improve provision. This term this work has been adapted for use in any resourced provision and we are publishing the standards to enable colleagues to use them.
Quality Standards for Resourced Provision (October 2024)
We intend to publish a report later in the spring term of 2025 to share our findings. We will use this learning to inform the next phase of this work as well as the wider SEND Manifesto work.
