Website Compliance Checking Tool Updated
Published: 17 September 2022
The Website Compliance Checking Tool has been updated to take account of the latest DfE guidance. It is a free excel tool which enables colleagues to review the website of the setting, print a report and filter to identify the aspects that need to be addressed.
The Website Compliance Checking Tool has been updated – it can be downloaded here: https://www.learnsheffield.co.uk/Resources/Website-Compliance-Checker
For colleagues who aren’t familiar with this, it is a free excel tool which uses the guidance published by the DfE this term (see below) about what schools should publish online. There are versions for different schools types: maintained primary, academy primary, maintained secondary & academy secondary. The tool enables you to review your own website, print a report and filter to identify the aspects that need to be addressed.
You may be aware that the Department for Education recently updated their guidance on what schools must publish online. Key changes include:
- Information about school uniform
- Information about timings of the school day
- Some changes on performance data (secondary and post-16 only)
To support schools on this, we have updated our website audit tool (this is available on our website). This is based on two pieces of guidance:
Note that this does not include other elements that should also be published online, for example the requirement to publish key RSE information on your website.
Please do let us know if you have any comments or suggestions for the future development of the tool.
Learn Sheffield does provide external website reviews, using this tool and then providing the report and feedback. Do get in touch if this is something that you are interested in.
