RSHE Training Programme Available

The new RSHE training programme is now available on the Learn Sheffield website. The programme builds on previous training and includes: the curriculum implications of KCSIE, equality and inclusion, drugs education & sex and intimate relationships.

The sessions start with Curriculum Implications of KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education). The training is then spread across the rest of this school year and into 2022-23.

The training is split into the following areas:

  • Curriculum Implications of KCSIE

These sessions will cover using RSHE to support curriculum requirements of KCSIE 2021, covering the following areas

o   Online Safety

o   Peer on Peer abuse

o   Sexual Harassment

o   Other Hidden Harms

There will be separate sessions for primary and secondary.

  • Equality and Inclusion

In this area, there are sessions on having an LGBT+ inclusive curriculum and using the RSHE curriculum to be an anti-racist school

  • Drugs Education

This will include raising awareness for all teachers and substance misuse education in the secondary RSHE curriculum.

  • Sex and Intimate Relationships

These sessions will be available in person and online and will include how to tackle tricky questions at primary level and sex and intimate relationships for secondary schools.

 

The programme also includes termly sessions for RSHE Leads at both primary and secondary level.

There will also be some top-up training sessions for teaching RSHE at each key stage in the autumn term of next school year.
