Annual Governance Conference
An annual conference for governors will be organised, which will
have a theme and not include the kind of content that would be
found in a briefing. The purpose of the conference is to inspire and
motivate governors to reflect on their own schools and the wider
educational community. Each subscribing school will receive two tickets for this event as part
of their subscription and have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets. The remaining
tickets will cost £150 and will be available on general sale.
Sheffield Governance Conference

quality outcomes for pupils with SEND?’
What is the role of high quality governance in ensuring that
every child receives a world class education?
Keynote Speakers
David Bartram, OBE

with over three hundred schools working collaboratively with
London Challenge, the National College and the Department
for Education (DfE). He was Director for SEND at the London
Leadership Strategy, advisor to the Mayor of London’s education
team and currently provides support to a range of teaching school
alliances and local authorities on the strategic development of
SEND provision.
David is author of the SEND Review Guide, a national peer-review

He is also editor of Great Expectations, leading an effective SEND
strategy in school.
Maria Constantinou

Governance Twilights
The Primary Improvement Board, in conjunction with the steering groups of primary localities, have agreed a common request for a bespoke governance session this year.
The session will be a COVID related session for Governors and trustees. It will include updates on some of the key aspects for colleagues to be aware of, including the latest research from the EEF and the latest position in relation to Ofsted.
It will also seek to provide some insight into how the role of HTs and senior leaders has changed alongside some reflections on how this is likely to impact on the ways in which governors and trustees may receive information.
In addition to the online sessions below this session will also be recorded so that governors and trustees can watch (using a school login) at a time that is convenient for them.
