Sheffield Education Strategy

The Sheffield Education Strategy draft document has been shared as part of a consultation which is open until Thursday 7 January 2021.

Sheffield City Council are asking staff from across the schools, early years settings, FE, the local authority as well as parents and carers to share their views and priorities to help shape the future education and skills strategy. There are two ways to get involved: use this link to respond via an online consultation before 7th January or attend one of the workshops that have been organised during the consultation period.

Learn Sheffield are hosting a series of consultation events for colleagues in schools, academies and colleges via workshops and sector events. Contact stephen.betts@learnsheffield.co.uk to attend a workshop or arrange to discuss the strategy.

Education Strategy Workshop Sessions:

Friday 11 December – 10-11am
Tuesday 15 December – 9-10am
Wednesday 16 December – 1-2pm
Monday 4 January – 4-5pm
Tuesday 5 January – 10-11am

Sheffield City Council have also asked settings to share the above link widely with parents/carers and other interested parties. This is an open consultation and all feedback is welcomed. They will also be asking children and young people to get involved, and will work with schools and settings to work out the best platform for this given the pandemic restrictions.

In addition to the consultation regarding the education element of the strategy, Sheffield City Council are working with Sheffield Hallam University to develop a skills strategy informed by employers, the public sector and third sector organisations. A set of consultation and engagement events with employers and the other key stakeholders, including young people impacted by Covid-19, is taking place at this time to inform this work.
