Published: 2 September 2019
The outcome of the Children’s Services Inspection, that was taking place as we ended last term, was that Sheffield has been awarded an overall ‘good’ rating by Ofsted.

Ofsted carried out an inspection of children's social care services between 15th July and the 26th July 2019.

The report has been published and overall effectiveness was graded as Good.

The full report is available at https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/44/80551 and the message below has been sent to schools from Carly Speechley (Director of Children and Families, Sheffield City Council).

Message from Carly Speechley

Dear All

As you will all be aware we recently had our full Ofsted inspection. The report has been published today and we are pleased to announce that we have been awarded an overall ‘good’ rating by Ofsted. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support both during the inspection itself but also through all the work that we do together to improve services to children, young people and their families in Sheffield. The inspectors recognised the quality of multi-agency working and partnerships in Sheffield. The report does highlight some areas for improvement which we are fully on board with having already started work on action plans, prior to Ofsted’s inspection. We are not complacent, and I know that together we will continue to work towards improving on those areas identified in the report.

Best Wishes
