Keynote Speakers

Christine Gilbert
Christine was head of Ofsted from 2006 to 2011 and is renowned for her deep knowledge of education and her honest and forthright opinion.Christine has a distinguished career in education, local and national government. She started her career as a history teacher, then a secondary head, before moving on to become Director of Education at Harrow Council, then Tower Hamlets Council. Christine is currently the Independent Chair of Camden Learning and will be carrying out a peer review of Learn Sheffield this year.

Mary Myatt
Mary is a highly respected education adviser, writer and trainer. She spends time in schools talking to pupils, teachers and leaders about learning, leadership and the curriculum. She maintains that there are no quick fixes and that great outcomes for pupils are not achieved through tick boxes. She is working with senior leaders on the link between educational values and high standards, and her books ‘Hopeful Schools’ and ‘High Challenge, Low Threat’ have inspired school leaders across the country.
